Fly to Aqaba and have your scuba gear carried for free

Aqaba Royal Jordanian

An update from the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority:

The Royal Jordanian, in cooperation with the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, is pleased to announce the new connecting flights from London Heathrow to Aqaba via the capital Amman and to carry scuba gear for FREE when flying to Aqaba.

This step was taken to promote Aqaba as a quality diving destination on the Red Sea and as a gateway to Jordan's most important attractions; Wadi Rum and Petra.

The daily scheduled flight from London Heathrow Airport to Amman’s Queen Alia International Airport, onboard the highly advanced, state-of-the-art Boeing 787 aircraft, takes off at 16:05 GMT and lands in Amman at 23:05 Jordan local Time; passengers can then fly to Aqaba on Saturday at 1:15 am Jordan Local Time and arrive here in Aqaba at 2:10 am Jordan Local Time.

The operation is being run on Saturdays and will be taking place until June 30, 2017, and then from September 15 to December 31, 2017.

This extra effort was made to facilitate the passengers’ travel experience following a meeting of the UK travel agents, RJ’s UK office and the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) in Birmingham Dive Show 2016 and the WTM 2016 in the UK.
